CRIS, acronym for Inter-department Research Center on Security, was founded to gather all the security-related competencies available at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The CRIS has an holistic approach to security issues, with a special focus on information and communication technologies, information intelligence, business intelligence, high-tech crimes, biochemical sciences, economic, financial and juridical expertise.

Master in Information Security

Collaborations

CRIS disseminates the security culture through the organization of seminars, workshops and Masters ("Information System Security", "Information Privacy and Law", "National and International Management of Emergencies", "Management of Chemicals"), and through scientific publications. Particular care is devoted in the dissemination of the holistic view of security, highlighting interconnections among security, information intelligence e business intelligence.

CRIS has 40 permanent researchers in addition to temporary positions. His members participate and manage research projects on security at national and European level, they participate to European Forum on security, such as ESRAB and ESRIF. CRIS collaborates with regional and national institutions and with some of the most important companies in the sector of logical and physical security.
